In order to get Certificate of Good Conduct from U.A.E., first a fingerprint form must be legalized with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Ottawa, then submitted to the UAE Embassy for legalization and last must be sent to the relevant Ministry of Interior Agency (Police Department) in Dubai or Abu Dhabi
Getting the Fingerprint form Legalized in Canada
You have to go to any police station in your area and request for fingerprint form. Then send it to Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Ottawa for legalization. After the DFAIT’s legalization, please forward the document to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ottawa for legalization along with money order of CAD$50.00 payable to Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and prepaid return envelope.
Requesting Certificate of good Conduct from Ministry of Interior Agency in U.A.E
To get a certificate of good conduct and a criminal record check from the United Arab Emirates, you have to submit the following documents:
1. A fingerprint form legalized by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ottawa***
2. A copy of your previous residence permit in the United Arab Emirates/copy of passport
3. 4 colored passport size photographs
4.Fill out the application form (For Dubai please vist www.dubaipolice.com to print the application from)
Then, you have to send all of the required documents that are mentioned above, to the Ministry of Interior Agency (Police Department) in Dubai or in Abu Dhabi.

Before submitting the above mentioned documents to the Police Department, you have to contact them to inquire about the fees (ex: money order should be made payable to …) and the courier company, etc. We suggest that you send the documents to a relative or a friend and they can obtain the certificate of good conduct from the Police Department on your behalf so the processing time will be faster than sending it directly by courier to the Police Department.
